I got through the first week of school and I already feel bored and frustrated.
German Grammar: Found out that it was the SECOND part and the teacher strongly advised those who hadn't yet taken the first part of the course to drop it. MeI sacrificed Japanese for this crap. No WAY I'm leaving NOW. Result: the teacher wondering why I suck. (But that would have happened anyway.. so...)
Spanish: Wha..? Have forgotten waay much. Need to revise. I'll also miss more lessons than I'm allowed.
Turkish: First impression: Oh GAWD. 2nd impression: Better.
Portuguese: WHY did I choose this?
Proseminar: I'M SCREWED. But the teacher was very understanding. ("It's difficult because I don't know how to write.. what to write.. I mean.. I don't know.." Oh, how sad.
Swiss literature: I realised that I have to TRY for the first time in my life in any kind of German literature. The teacher is the same who is responsible for the proseminar. Oh, crap.
To come: TESTS (psychology) and some random law course I won't understand or pass.. but hey, I'm used to that.
Overall: My schedule during the week is pretty full. In the evening I watch a bit of TV and go to bed. That's pretty much it, although I try to browse through LJ, so I'm sorry for not being an active commenter. I guess with school, it's always like a semi-hiatus.
Football issues:
Congrats to Germany for winning the Women's Euro! :D (Not that it was a surprise or anything. XDD) Glad that Finland managed to make it relatively far and put up a good fight against England. The home crowd wasn't too disappointed. XDD
Finland with no chance to qualify for South Africa after the draw to Liechtenstein. Not that there was much hope anyway. It was a tough group. I hope our national team will still keep fighting till the end.
BuLi: Dortmund vs. Bayern. Oh, I felt bad when Hummels celebrated his goal against Bayern. (That's the club that raised you!!!) But on the other hand: Serves Bayern right for letting their talent go. Their defensive talent. Who would likely be more use than the bought defenders. At least in the future. Why can't they think that far? Started feeling a little better, when the kept home grown players showed something. Thomas Müller~<3 He scored his first Bundesliga goal the day before his birthday. Awww~~ And since that was so much fun, he scored a second one. I'll be livid if the kid's talents won't be utilised properly. But he's been getting chances, and been constant in his performance, so I’m glad he got to score as well because people mostly look at goals *sighs*
Interesting fact: five players on the pitch from Bayern's youth system, 4 out of the 6 scored goals for them too. :)
Spurs vs. Man Utd. Oh-kay. Not surprised. I knew that if any team would shatter the perfect record, it would be Man Utd. Wished that they'd faced them a little later.. Now it sucks even more. One day... one DAY I'll get to witness Spurs beat ManU and it will feel SO GOOD. Yeah... Spurs~~<3 Lose or win. (And with my lucky viewing: not so much of that winning)
Couldn't follow much else. Glad that Mainz is doing well. :) (And Hoffenheim finding their footing. :) ) The CL next week.:) Ooh.. a little scared for the German clubs. Don't know what's up with Wolfsburg. Stuttgart: *prays*
Whoops. Football ramble turned out to be a little longer than I expected.
Aaanyway... the main point of the post:
Lübeck. :) I very nice little city surrounded by water (the main city at least). The most important attractions are right next to each other, so it didn't take us very long to check out pretty much everything. :)
(But I don't remember the names of the churches and whatnot, so I'll spare people from any.. um "explaining" )
I had misplaced the map I had of Lübeck, so when I saw a nice book with a map called "Thomas Mann's Lübeck", I bought that.
Soon after we ran into the free maps. XDD
Holstentor! I actually remember this one. :)
I think this is from Puppenbrücke... (Trans: Doll's bridge) Or not. I don't know why I couldn't find a picture of Mercury.
Wilhelm I - The first emperor of Germany (Or German Empire :) ). :)
View from the other side of the river. :)
St Peter's church.
Hundestraße (Trans: Dogstreet). :) Oh-kay. I like the name. And one can see the cute houses (typical for Lübeck) as well. :)
In front of the Buddenbrookhaus. :)
Mm.. Marzipan. :) (And I ended up buying alcohol as well. XD)
Boats. :) We actually ended up walking around and trough the whole main city. :)
Oh yeah.. I haven't done any homework, studied or tidied my room. I SUCK.
