Hello hello my friends hello,
I purchased mustache wax last week. The real deal this time, not some hair pomade that I threw on my face.
It's made mostly of beeswax and it's unscented, so it smells like bees. Which is pleasant enough I suppose; I love bees. Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. It also makes my mustache water proof. More or less. And it's stiff wax, so it's stiff. You work it for a while in your fingers to soften it up and apply it to the stache and then it hardens after a minute or so. Chicago is cold so this stuff pretty well froze to my face. That's nice because I'm used to having my mustache melt on me halfway through the day by my body heat alone. This mustache won't quit.
Turns out real mustache wax is a nightmare to remove at the end of the day. Maybe I used too much? In any case, it does not wash out easily. That's fine though. I'll keep a curly mustache then. This will save me the trouble of using so much wax tomorrow. And then eventually my mustache will be well trained and will curl on its own.
In other news, I'm sewing again. This time I'm in the process of sewing a couple of slimes from Dragon Warrior. My first attempt was a bit too square. I need 6 pieces instead of 4 for the body apparently. It is also too dark, but my blue velvet is soooo soft I had to use it for something. So yeah, the first one has an uncanny resemblance to an old Atari joystick. Emphasis on the stick. My second attempt will be rounder with 6 pieces and lighter with a shiny blue satin. Should be nice. I'll let you know.
I also purchased a grey fabric for metal slimes... but the grey is not as shiny as I'd like. It was the best Jo-Ann had this visit though. Oh well, it will do for now. I only bought 1 yard of it instead of my usual 3 yards.
Also, JD at work asked me to make a radioactive cat. So I'm sewing one of those now too. If I ever find the time. I have a nice yellow green fabric I use for my metroids that will serve as the belly of the cat. And I just acquired (from Jo-Ann via cash-moneys) a yard of fuzzy NEON orange. Emphasis on the orange. Haha just kidding, emphasis Actually on the neon. Fooled you. Hahaha-ha. Ha. Oh you are so gullible sometimes. I tell myself this thing you know.
Which reminds me, my landlord has his son taking pictures of my apartment so that he can sell my apartment to someone. Someone other than me. So, maybe I should be looking for another place to stay? I'll let future John worry about that. I'm supposed to be in Australia anyway right. Right.
Oh, plans for that cat. As I was saying. It will be radioactive in color. I also plan to make the body separate from the head, paws, and tail. (blue feather boa tail)... what a day at Jo-Ann this was... curly creepy mustache guy buys a blue feather boa and a neon orange yard of fabric while eyeing the other neon colors in the spandex dancewear section of fabrics... Yeah, I'm creepy and I shop at Jo-Ann. It's what I do. It's what I am. Right, so separate pieces. These will all be attached together by the clever use of buttons. In this way, I can make accessories for the cat later. ie a peg-leg. a tentacle arm. a super-hero cap. an etc. and other things too.
The end.
Today I'm thankful for shortcuts. Shortcuts are faster than the long way around. Also shortcut hair is pretty. That is, if the girl is pretty. If she's not then there is no help for her. Thank you shortcuts. Zort.
