proud uncle of an adorable little niece!
so we left at 11 the other night, and my mom drove across MA...then she let me take the wheel from connecticut all the way to Lenox Hill Hospital on East 77th in NYC--i literally drove from 1:16am until 4am! it was crazy! so we got to the hospital and stayed in the waiting room all night. it was well worth it, though, b/c at 12:29pm on february 1st, 2007, Raelen Michelle joined the family! she's 7 lbs 0 oz and 19 3/4 inches. My sister actually came down w. the flu (and a temp of 102.2) during her labor and, because there was an increased risk for infection, they decided to put Raelen in the Neonatel Intensive Care Unit (NICU). but it looks like there is no health related issues for either my sister or my niece (Raelen got a 9.9 out of 10 on her APGAR!)
she is so cute! she has little dimples, long legs and fingers (her mother is a pianist!), beautiful brown hair, and a heckuva grip!
I'm in NYC until sunday, but i just wanted to give you all an update!
