Higher Education: My Trip to Fredonia

Jan 26, 2006 10:04

Yesterday I made the hour drive from East Amherst to Fredonia (college) to visit my friend Andrew.

I arrived around 3pm. There was little snow but the winds were bitter and it made the 15 minute walk from the "freshman lot" less then enjoyable.

I hadn't eaten yet, so upon leaving my stuff at his dorm, we went to one of the little cafe places on campus. I got a bagel and soup for less then three dollars.

We went back to his dorm and watched a few episodes of Family Guy. Then I met his room mate Alex who was very cool. He seemed to want to take a nap, so Andrew and I drove around Fredonia. We killed time in a walmart, a book store and a pet store.

We reconviened at the dorm and eventually took the bus to Applebees and had a nice dinner there.

Andrew and I started watching The Birdcage back at the dorm and all of his friends showed up during the movie.

It was good times.

Now Im in the dorm ... trying to type quietly so I don't disturb Andrew and his room mate. I've had great time so far, I'm a bit sad I have to go home this evening. I'm supposed to meet some pals from work out to see Hostel tonight, so thats something to look forward to atleast.

Im very glad that Andrew is well adjusted to college life, I worried about that because he was an outcast in high school much like myself.

I'll have to wake Andrew up soon. Im getting hungry and I'm tired of being in my PJs.
