Feeling slightly better. Two days before the concert and three before my trip. Goodtimes ahead!
And now, an amusing anecdote from the EAFD. A fire call when out this morning so I rushed off to my station. Scrambled to put my gear on. Got into the fire truck with Jack and waited for another fire fighter to show up so we could roll out. 9-5 gets on the air and says that it was burnt popcorn that caused the alarm and told us to hold in quarters. Two more firefighters eventually show up. I lept out of the truck and took my gear off. Walked towards the other fire fighters while putting my clothes on (I had an undershirt and a pair of shorts on and I was putting on a pair of fleece pants and a fleece hoodie). Did that whole "hop" into a pair of pants thing, where you grab the waist of your pants and jump to pull them up. Eddie McGrew, a long time fire fighter and one of my fathers co-workers, noticed this and the following conversation occured.
Ed: Boy, you sure do get those clothes on and off pretty quick!
Katie: I try not to let people in on just how good I am at that Ed.
Ed: ::Laughs:: Ah the old motel no tell deal eh?
Katie: Whatever you do don't mention any of this to Dad
::Ed, the other firefighters and I all laugh. More small talk ensues and at some point I pull up the hood on my grey fleece hoodie::
Ed: Now you look like the Uni-bomber.
Katie: ::sarcasticly:: Ed! Stop giving away all my secrets!
Still need to get some FD pics up ... very soon!
