(no subject)
you know how when you dont plan something it just turns out so much better? that was exactly the case yesterday.
yesterday after i finished class i came home to get fabian sr and fabian jr to go to a city just about half an hour away. fabian had to get a new social security card cause he missplaced his. well i double checked with fabian to see that he got all the appropriate documentation and i also asked him if he had his proof of identity. for some reason he brought our marriage certificate as an additional form of id. i had not known this till we were down the road about 15 mins into the trip so when he mentions it i spark and say maybe i can finally change my last name to yours after only 4 yrs of being married. now, fabian is constantly nagging me for not having his last name and i just answer him with the famous ' i'll do it next week 'and just never end up following through. well guess what... i did it ! i no longer have my maiden name, which i love soooo damn much, i now have a matching last name to go along with my husband and son. as i finalized the deal and walked out the social security office i had a sudden sadness, not cause i did not want to change my last name, but more because my last name has been with me for 22 yrs and to me it feels as if though i am breaking my family tree at a limb. i don't know if that makes any sense but whatever.
ok the second unplanned event that turned out marvelous... right outside the social security office and directly behind it there was a huge furniture store. fabian asked me if i wanted to go in and see and i agreed. well after some browseing and our intentions only being just that.. fabian asked me if i liked anything in the store for our formal living room. i said there were a few things i liked and i showed him. wellllll we both agreed on this one set and he whipped out the check card and said ' i am going to buy it for you ' =) yay ! now we have the major areas of the new house furnished (formal living room, dinning room, family room, master bedroom, office, fabiancito's room, and my mother in law is bringing her new furniture for her bedroom)
ok i need to go .. i have class at 1 and i have to go battle for parking at the campus.
