Proof that Ubuntu works out of the box
!) downloaded a copy of 6.10's iso
2) checked it with a hash check (yay OSX)
3) burnt it
4) went downstairs and told my dad's compy to boot from CD
THAT IS ALL
this compy that I'm at right now is running LINUX with no install
Not just a geek terminal, either. It's driving VGA, USB is working, flash is playing in the browser, and, most importantly, it knew how to get into the internets
And it was free
