Hey everyone... still wondering what's up with me?
So what's new? Just the fact that I have been working a lot- and taking some courses from time to time. The courses are the part of my "personal development" plan for this year. I just drew up some kind of informal contract with my boss to ensure what duties/responsibilities I will be doing throughout the year of 2007. While I was discussing with my boss about the contract a couple of times, I was totally busy! My department was expected to drill and complete approximately 150 wells in 3 months- we started in January and things are finally slowing down for the Break-Up period (in mid-March). Thank god! Haha.
Anyway, I don't know if any of you know that I just went to Las Vegas for a short vacation during end of January. At first I wasn't too sure if my boss will be cool with me leaving in January due to the Q1 drill plans, but she gave me the approval back in December. Actually, my mom got all-inclusive paid trip from the bank that she works for. She and other 50 people (from BC, AB, Sask and Man) won some kind of awards- all for having a great work performance or something. She asked me if I want to go.I was like, "Oh definitely! Why not?" So we flew on Friday night and stayed there for 5 nights. We stayed at a very nice hotel called the Aladdin. This hotel is sooo awesome- it's right there along at the south of the strip! We just paid like 300 bucks to stay- the bank only covers the cost for 3 nights. We went a lot of shopping- especially at the outlet malls like 3 times! Not only we did shop at the outlet malls, we went to some "higher-class" malls, like at the Caesar Forums, and Fashion Show Mall. It's just freakin gigantic! We also checked out a Circil de Seoil (sp?) show and the Titanic artifact exhibition. We also checked out many different hotels: Mirage, TI, Luxor, Monte Carlo, New York, MGM, Belliago, Wynn, and Mandola Bay. The buffets are just delicious! The prices are quite reasonable. Before I don't even like eating sushi at all. But about 2 years ago, I decided to give it another try, now I definitely like it now. There is a Sushi buffet place called Todai, which that we considered as the best place to eat. Todai is like the #1 restaurant compared to Calgary's sushi restaurants! It’s kind of expensive but it is sooo worth of money to spend. If you guys like eating sushi, then go there and check it out! On the way back home on Thursday morning at like 1am. Our airplane was stuck on the ground due to the bad snow storm here in Calgary! But it only last for like half-hour. haha. So, to sum it up about Las Vegas: It's a nice city for entertainment, but I wouldn't live there.
Ok, I have to do some reading before for the second part of the course tomorrow. So I'll try to type up another post whenever I have time.
Take care, y'all!
