Alright, after reading about Neil's new album, and some things he's said, a few things have come to me. Neil Young, though he is native to Canada, bleeds red and blue more than most Americans do. Neil Young had this to say;
"I was waiting for someone to come along, some young singer 18 to 22 years old, to write these songs and stand up," Young said. "I waited a long time. Then, I decided that maybe the generation that has to do this is still the '60s generation. We're still here."
Kids are growing up in a fierce world, but we're catered to. We've got everything we want. We have iPods, cell phones, drugs, money. Everything. And we want more. We just don't give a damn. The wool's been pulled over our eyes, and we're comfortable.
Not all of us though. I think it's gonna be up to us to correct our father's mistakes. All the bullshit we're exposed to is too slick. We're not dumb. A lot of us already know the story. And plenty more will soon. It won't last forever.
And it's gonna take the hippies AND Generation "Next" to take action.
Neil is singing what we're all thinking. He knows it, and we know it. And we're all gonna sing along some day soon.
Peace and Love,
