Elon: Scene Two

Sep 04, 2007 17:51

The semester has started here at Elon. I'm taking a full-load 18 credit hour schedule, and working another 22 hours a week with the bank. So, needless to say- things have been brutal to begin with. On top of that, my apartment situation is hell on a daily basis and nothing ever seems to run smoothly. About the only consistent thing in my life right now is Cliff, which is quite a change of pace from this time last year-- at least we're getting along so well so far ....

Business Law, Business Calculus, Business Communications, Ethical Practices, and Managerial Accounting are the classes I am tackling this semester. 3 of my teachers are foreign. And 1 of them is from the deep, deep south and has a very southern accent. And the final professor is about 75 years old and named Betsy. One guy is from South Africa (really cool guy, tough accent). The other is from Israel (amazingly smart and articulate man). Classes have been tough, but very managable so far. It'll require a ton of work, but I guess I'll do it and hopefully get decent grades. AHHH!

I transfered down from DC to work at the Wachovia near the school for the semester. Its a very busy branch. I usually work and go to class then come back and close the branch. It's tough trying to make it back and forth during the day, but the money is very nice to have for the weekends. Which brings me to........ money!

After working all sumer, and working now while in school, and after getting the pretty nice grant that I received from the school for this year ... I am sitting very nicely monetarily-- which is such a change of events from like ... the rest of my life. I am enjoying having a car down at school, paying for everything in my life. I bought everything I have this year-clothes, food, trips, books, etc. I am, in a sense, completely independent and on my own. It's a weird feeling.

The apartment that I am living in this year is SO nice. I love it! My bedroom still needs a little work to it, but all and all its turning out to be such a great place to live! Its been a headache trying to get everything organized with everyones schedule, but slowly and surly we'll get the apartment together- furniture and all!

Dinner time. I'm outttttt.
