Happiness isn't a warm gun, afterall.
Behind the CN Tower's seemingly peaceful aura, there have been 17 shootings in the Greater Toronto Area this summer spanning from June 23 to the most recent shootings at what used to be Joker Nightclub on July 17.
Here's a (disturbing)list of Toronto's gun crimes this summer:
[June 23]
> 12:45 PM - Michael Laidley, 22, dies after being shot in his townhouse near Sheppard Avenue East and Neilson Road.
[June 24]
> 2:00 AM - A bouncer in his 30's is shot at the Brass Rail Tavern (stip club) on Yonge Street near Charles Street, following a dispute.
> 10:00 PM - Police probe shots fired on Shuter Street near Parliament Street and Dundas Street East. A man with gunshot wounds later walks (WALKS) to the hospital.

> 2:15 AM - Two men are wounded after being shot while standing on the corner infront of a 7-Eleven store on College Street and Spadina Avenue.
[June 26]
> 8:40 PM - A 42-year-old man is shot in the thigh in an attempted carjacking.
> 10:00 PM - A 15-year-old boy is shot in the back, leg, and buttocks at Pape and Gamble Avenues, south of O'Connor Drive.

> 7:45 PM - Two brothers are shot in a dispute on McClure Crescent, near Neilson Road and Sheppard Avenue East.
[June 29]
> 4:30 AM - A man is found shot in the Dundas Street East and River Street area. More shots are fired at paramedics and police arriving at the scene. Quinn Borde, 23, surrenders to police after two days and is charged with six counts of attempted murder.
[July 2]
> 4:00 AM - Jeffrey Lewis, 31, of Toronto is killed and another person is wounded in a shooting on Weston Road near Rogers Road. No arrests have been made.
[July 3]
> 9:40 PM - A man is shot on the 28th floor of the Westin Harbour Castle. Police later find four kilograms of cocaine at the scene. Sean Erez, 36, of Quebec, the shooting victim, is charged with drug offences. Two others are charged with cocaine possesion. No arrests have been made for the shooting.

> 2:15 AM - Dianna Sandeman, 27, is shot dead and her boyfriend is wounded in a double shooting in their car outside a west-end bar.
[July 8]
> 3:30 AM - a 29-year-old man is shot in the leg and abdomen at an apartment on Adanac Avenue.
[July 9]
> 3:30 AM - A man, believed to be in his early 20's, returns to the scene 30 minutes after being shot in the buttocks on Jane Street near Wilson Avenue.
[July 11]
> 9:30 PM - Kemar Brown, 22, of Toronto, is shot twice in the chest in a tinyroom above a vacant store on Church Street, south of Dundas Street.
[July 12]
> 7:23 PM - Gerald McDonald, 45, is shot to death in an apartment on Weston Road near Eglinton Avenue West. Charged with second-degree murder is Wayne Andre Powell, 20, of Toronto.
> 8:40 PM - Virgilio Cuevas, 31, and 56-year-old unidentified woman die after being shot in the head in a garage on Canoe Crescent.

> 2:00 AM - Kirk Giles, 30, is killed and a man and a woman taked to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting at the VOLUME (formerly The Joker) nightclub on Richmond Street West near John Street.
