Going through my f-list instead of finishing a report for the English supervisor in Bangkok...
And I find
descriptions of different ovarian cysts over at
pcosupport. This one in particular caught my attention because of its creepiness:
Dermoid cyst - which consists of a growth filled with various types of tissue such as fatty material, hair, teeth, bits of bone and cartilage.
And then I had a frightening flashback to S4 English Lit and Margaret Atwood's short story
Hairball (link to spoilerish plot summary) and to
coleman_genie,
ananasananas, and my homage to the story during Joe's Excellent Adventure video that we made at the end of the year. We had a sock puppet frog borrowed/stolen from another group's presentation a month earlier and he travelled through scenes from the books we had read during the year, harassing various people from our class along the way (including
prairiedaun and her cat). At one point, the sock puppet passed a jar of pickles on
ananasananas's mantlepiece labelled "HAIRBALL".
We were (and, of course, still are) geniuses.
