In a fit of procrastination, I've started writing drabbles again.

It was only one, but this might be the start of something addictive again. Assuming the icon-making doesn't keep inspiring me.

Title: Ol’ Blue Eyes
Characters: Riker & friends
Challenge: Singing
Notes: I imagine this taking place in a high-tech 24th century Alaskan garage…

“Sha doo! Bee bop! Bee! Bop!” Will’s face scrunched up as he scatted. His broadening shoulders swayed with the swinging beat.

A startling cymbal crash stopped his crooning. A few stray notes escaped from other instruments and the garage was silent.

Will turned and raised one eyebrow quizzically.

“This is… it’s not you, you know.” The drummer glanced nervously at the other band members. “We just don’t want you in our band anymore. You just…can’t sing.”

“Guys, I…” Will blushed, hurt. Then an idea struck. “Fine, I’ll do something else,” he said commandingly. “I’ve always wanted to try the trombone.”

In other Star Trek LJ news: go vote for the icons you like best here before tomorrow. One entry is mine (but I can't say which) so you can use your amazing deductive reasoning to figure it out what to vote for, or just vote for whichever ones you like best. Plus, it's fun to vote on things! :)

fiction, icons, star trek
