Day 1 -

I woke up to the sounds of distant ambulance sirens and repetitive medical equipment pulses, beeps, and chimes. My eyes opened unhurried, my vision blurry. The sensitivity to the light hurts my head. Rubbing and adjusting my eyes. I was rested on a hospital bed, perfectly covered and tucked in to blankets and sheets. I spotted a nurse, although, she stood camouflaged in the white room in her impeccable white uniform. She noticed my revival and she was eager to come greet me. She approached me with a warm smile and she grabbed my hand of ice and said, "I'm Paige, it's so relieving that you're awake. We were all getting terribly concerned." I tried to respond, she stopped me, "Not necessary, you're going to be fine. Just rest. If you need anything, don't hesitate to communicate to me and to the staff." She squeezed my hand slightly, smiled, released, walked to the foot of the bed, grabbed my chart, flipped it open, examined it, and continued to walk away. I guess you could say that I was quite relieved myself. I remembered what happened to me. How could I have survived that? ... ((I'm so tired.)) That type of question can be answered in a short while. Closed my eyes. Sleep to dream. Sleep to acquire readiness for my inquisitive state of mind.
