I have a project I have to do in my interior design class on the elements (point & line, shape & form, texture, pattern, ornament, and color... I may be leaving something out) and principles (balance, rhythm, scale & proportion, emphasis and harmony) where I have to find examples of each in magazines, pictures, drawings, etc and put them together in a binder. I'm really excited for it. We started it in class last week, and I thought we were going to work on it more last night, but we didn't. It's due next Monday, and I just have ideas all running through my head. My favorite, that I've actually already done, I just need to put the letters on a page, is for texture. Last week I grabbed a whole bunch (7 to be exact, haha) of fabric scraps of different textures and cut a letter out of each so each letter in texture has a different feel. So fun! I also have a picture of a pillowcase with ribbon woven onto the end for ornament, a kitchen with a bunch of open cabinets and ceiling beams for horizontal line, a big clunky 4 poster bed for vertical line, a few different things for the types of rhythm (I am having trouble finding an example of one) and a focal point fireplace for emphasis. I'm itching to work on it some more.
