I was having an issue with Firefox 15.0.1 setting off my Comodo firewall. Turns out I just needed to reboot the machine (not just restart Firefox) and it sorted itself out.

I turn my computer off every night, and the Tumblr issue has followed me from one computer to the next (though using the same profile), so that's not going to work for me. I wish it was that easy!

Hm. Have you tried starting over with a new profile? Backup your old one somewhere and see if a clean one still gives you problems.

I haven't. Mostly because I feel like I finally have my Firefox running just the way I like it and starting over from scratch will mean a lot of work on my part bringing it back to the state it should be in. I was thinking of starting it in safe mode, just to see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't, I get the feeling I'm screwed anyway so I may just give up on Tumblr and find some other ad blocker.

I've been using NoScript which works pretty well. It doesn't block 100% of ads, but it also blocks sketch scripting on pages, which I like.

I use NoScript as well, but AdBlock Plus is still being difficult and I'm seeing a lot more ads than I'm used to (I didn't even know The Daily Show/Colbert and MSNBC online showed ads until AdBlock stopped working).

But I finally found the Tumblr issue, or at least part of it - a Greasemonkey script. That I wasn't even using! It still happens occasionally, but at least it isn't all the time.

Just started in Safe mode and yep, it works. So I think I'm going to try to disable everything and then enable extensions one after another depending on how vital they are to me and see where things go wonky. Hopefully, it'll be one of my least vital extensions. Thanks for all your advice.

No problem! Good luck! Sometime a newer version of an extension will do that. Echofon has been unusable past.. uh... 6 versions ago? So I had to roll back. Even that doesn't work now. So I feel your pain!
