Can't wait to read what you think about Que Sera Sera (still my favorite kdrama to date) and Spring Waltz (which is absolutely beautiful visually and emotionally).

There are certain shows that I feel like I'm saving as a reward for when I've only been watching crap for a while, and Que Sera Sera is definitely one of them.

Spring Waltz, on the other hand, I keep hearing good things about, but the synopsis doesn't tempt me at all. I wonder if it's just really badly written or if the actors/characters rise above a mediocre plot.

The plot of Spring Waltz is standard absurd and melodramatic kdrama fare but the chemistry between the main couple and the beautiful way it's filmed with the saturated colors made it really enjoyable to watch. Also, it had a lovely ending.

Ah, so it wasn't just my imagination that it sounds less than appealing. Good to know it rises above it, though! (So often, it's the other way around - interesting concepts that devolve into the same old same old.)

I'm so glad Hotaru no Hikari is on your list. I love that drama!

Oh, awesome! I'll be downloading that next then, I think. Any others you liked that I don't have on the list? I'm blowing right through these, so I'm constantly in need of new shows to watch.

I really enjoyed Love Contract (Taiwanese), though the ending is CRAZY. Ariel Lin is in it, and I really like her.

I've watched both the Taiwanese and the Japanese versions of Hana-Kimi (which was actually my gateway into Asian Dramas). The Japanese version is more serious and tightly held together than the Taiwanese version, but I don't know what it was, but the Taiwanese version made me laugh so much.

Those are the ones that stand out most, I think. I don't watch a lot of Korean dramas (in fact, I don't think I've watched a single one all the way through...), so I don't have any recs there.

I wish I had more time to watch, though! BTW, if downloading takes forever, you could always try mysoju and stream. It's lower quality for sure, but fast. :)

Ariel Lin, she's the lead from It Started with a Kiss, right? (It's all just a blur to me when it comes to names, basically. I have a hard enough time to process the names of the characters I'm currently watching, never mind remembering the names of the actors, and you can just forget about remembering anything about the drama I watched last week!)

I've actually found that I prefer Kdramas to other countries'. They're a bit cheesier than Jdramas (which are too stylized for me for the most part) and they have better production values than TWdramas (though I think that TWdramas are actually the most emotional. They're not afraid to really go for the gusto in TWdramas).

I'm doing pretty okay on the downloading front, which is good since most streaming sites seem to only be available to North Americans. I didn't see any such restriction on that site, but I'm almost afraid to try.

Hotaru no Hikari seriously is one of my favorite ALL time dramas and I really think that you would enjoy it. Liar Game is a really good jdrama as well. A lot of people either love it or they hate it but it resonated with me because of the lead actress.

I started it the other day, but I don't know, it just didn't grab me the way I wanted it to. Maybe I'm just a bit off right now because none of the dramas I'm watching are making me happy, except for rewatches. Oh, and Playful Kiss, but that's pretty much a rewatch too. I think I'm going to try some American television for a while, at least until I get out of this funk.

Yeah that seems like a good plan. But truthfully after you've seen Full House not really much can compare. And your Capital Scandal icon is to die for! If you have time give Hotaru a couple more episodes I hope it will grab you because it has a perfect ending. :)

I started watching Kdramas because I remember you had posted about them and they started popping up on my Netflix queue. I've only watched "My Princess" so far, but I loved it! It looks like from your notes you gave up on it, but if you like "teh cute" it definitely ramps back up again. I think the leads have amazing chemistry, and the banter and silliness was worth the fun, even if the villainess was pretty one-dimensional and the plot wasn't the most groundbreaking.

I'll have to check out the other ones you have reviewed--so thank you for that list!
