I'm hearing good things, which is why I wanted to try it. I'm only hoping I have time! I mean, I can't even seem to make time for shows I'm already watching.
I've seen a few people enjoying it, if my Drama watching tapers off I might give it a try.
And it makes you realize just how much other shows lose out on by all playing that Same. Damn. Song. Any online discussion of Boys Over Flowers always ends with someone pulling out almost paaaaaaaaaraaaaadiiiiiise~. The reason they play the same damn song all the time is because, as with all things Korean, it's a marketing ploy. The drama's main theme is usually sung by a famous singer or group (the Boys Over Flower song is sung by T-Max, the boy band Kim Joon belongs to, Kim Joon being the F4 who NEVER HAS A STORYLINE, despite being the cutest one, in my opinion). The whole idea is to make sure that one song is always associated with the drama, for better or worse (USUALLY WORSE). I totally agree, it's so stupidly limiting, because the right choice in music can totally make a scene. But yes! Soulmate definitely breaks that mold and has a pretty awesome soundtrack. How great is that Lasse Lindh song? All the Lasse Lindh songs?
LOVED that the ending was open-ended.THIS WAS MY FAVORITE KDRAMA ENDING EVER. It's the only one, to this day

Hee, I can totally see that with BOF, but what I actually meant was that Perhaps Love by HowL & J (had to look it up) has been in probably half the shows I watched so far. It's driving me insane that no one can think of another 'shippy song to put over their 'shippy scene. But other than that, yes, I feel like Soulmate showed just how much you can do with music and how much it lifts a show to have a good soundtrack.
(It cracks me up that people expect me to know Swedish music just because I'm Swedish. You know where I get my Swedish music? Same place I get all my other music - my flist. That said, I just went to Lasse Lindh's site and I found a Genie in a Bottle cover that just cracked me up because it doesn't even sound like the same song. I didn't recognize the lyrics until he got to the refrain.)
I read that there were originally plans for a sequel, but it never happened. Which makes me indescribably happy, because it would (probably) have ruined one of the best things about the show.
Oh, and hey, if you've got C'mon Through, I'd love it if you could upload it for me. *bats eyelashes* (I could have sworn I had it, but I can't find it anywhere, so I guess not. It's right up there with Boom Boom Ba as favorite melodic song right now.)
If you checks the Soulmate tag at jdramas, they have the complete OST up. That's where I got mine. But let me know if that doesn't work out for you for whatever reason, I can upload all the Lasse Lindh songs I grabbed from there.
