I'm such a bad memer

People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs and replace any question they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves. Tag 8 people. Those who are tagged cannot refuse. These 8 people must state who they were tagged by. You cannot tag the person who tagged you. Continue this game by sending this to 8 other people.

The part I bolded is the reason I decided to do the meme even though I usually don't, not even upon threats of having the LJ police sicced on me. The struck out portion is why I'm such a bad memer. Oh, and also because I apparently run havoc when told I can change the questions that are not to my liking.

1. You have 50 dollars in your pocket. What do you do with it?
Um, put it in a drawer? Frankly, it's not even worth it to take the trouble to go exchange it considering how weak the dollar is these days.

2. Could you give up television for a year?
There are three levels of television watchage, so I'll break it down.

Broadcast TV. Hell yes! I haven't watched broadcast TV in a few years anyway.
Downloadable TV. I wouldn't want to give it up, but if there's enough (monetary) incentive, I definitely could.
TV shows on DVD. You'll get my box sets when you pry them from my cold dead hands. *g*

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, would you still live in the same place as you do now?
At one point in my life, I thought I'd end up moving back to the States sooner or later, but then George Bush happened, and now I can't even see myself going back to visit (incidentally, Bush was the straw that broke the camel's back for my brother too. He moved back right after the 2000 election). Really the one thing I dislike about this country is the weather, and if I could just transport the whole shebang to somewhere closer to the Mediterranean I'd be happy as a clam. But hey, global warming might just do the job for me!

4. What material possession would you save from a burning building?
My mother has always said that the only things she can't leave behind are books and photographs. I'll do you one better and just narrow it down to photographs (well, negatives and memory cards) - books can be replaced.

5. What are you having for dinner tonight?
Pirogis! I made some last night, and even though they turned out ugly as sin, they're pretty damn delicious. (Yes, I know it's late, I just haven't felt like eating before now. =)

6. Night owl or morning person?
Night owl, definitely. Though in the last three or four years I've been finding it less and less difficult to get up in the mornings, so now I'm a curious combination of someone who loves to stay up late, but can still get up early if need be. Trust me, this was NOT the case during my teen years and my twenties.

7. What's your favorite museum?
The only really big one I've been to is the Louvre, but I think that no matter how many big name museums I visited, I'd still have to go with the Salvador Dalí museum in Figueres, Spain. He is my favorite painter, he made wonderfully bizarre sculptures, and he even made jewelry (which I didn't even know until I visited the museum). And not only does the museum contain some of his most famous paintings, it has the Mae West room and even the man himself (Salvador Dalí is entombed in the basement!).

8. What five TV shows would you bring to a deserted island?
With this one you kinda have to balance quality with length and rewatchability. I think I'd go with Arrested Development (only two and a half seasons, sure, but infinitely rewatchable), Buffy, Farscape, The West Wing aaaaand...um, okay FINE, The X-Files.

(If it were five TV seasons the choices would probably be: VM season 1, The Office (US) season 2, Farscape season 2 [season 3 is probably my favorite, but season 2 has better standalones and is more rewatchable, I think], Arrested Development season 1 [has the most episodes] and Buffy season 5 [but I'd replace the first three discs with the first three discs of season 6].)

9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy recently?
My great aunt dying. In a way, it shouldn't have been sad. She was 96, she lived a long and rich life and there were so many people that loved her. But she was like a second grandmother to me, and she was such an integral part of my childhood and I can't believe she's gone for good.

10. Are there any circumstances where you can see yourself killing another human being?
Yes.

11. Which of the 7 Deadly Sins do you think you relate to the most and why?
Sloth. My personal motto is "why do today what you can put off until tomorrow". Yeah, definitely sloth.

12. What's your dream job?
The one I have. Though it's not exactly what I would have envisioned when I was a kid (I would probably have said writer or something), the longer I work in this field, the more I realize that I couldn't find a job better suited to me if I tried. And I sorta stumbled into this in the first place, so yay for chance!

13. What's your bulletproof kink?
Secret relationships get me every time. See: just about every couple I've ever 'shipped.

14. If faced with the trolley problem, what would you do?
I'd flip the switch. I wouldn't see it as "participating in a moral wrong", I'd see it as saving four lives.

15. What's your worst quality?
I think the thing I like least about myself is that I'm judgemental, and that once I've made up my mind about something I hate to change it - to the point where I'll refuse to change it "just because", even if the facts are against me. I wish I were more open-minded.

16. Which fictional character could you most see yourself marrying?
I left this question in here because I loved the answer someone else gave: Fitzwilliam Darcy. But the more I think about it, the less sure I am that it'd be a good match. I think we may be too alike. One of the reasons Darcy and Lizzy are perfect for each other, in my opinion, is how they complement each other. But I'll stick with that answer anyway, he is Mr. Darcy, after all.

17. Most quotable?
Dorothy Parker. Or, alternatively, Arrested Development.

18. What sites do you visit daily?
LiveJournal (DUH!), gmail, BitMe, The Hunger Site and leavemethewhite.com. For the past few months I've also visited The National Library daily. But I figure I've gotta run out of Josh/Donna fics sooner or later. I've read up through M so far, but when I find an author I like I make detours to read all their fics, so I figure I'm probably 80% done at this point.

19. Do you believe there is nothing higher than human kind?
Humans are superior!

Except not. I don't believe in god, but I won't rule out that there's an intelligence higher than ours somewhere out there in the universe. Plus, I'm not all that sure that humans aren't the dumbest animals on this planet, considering I think we're going to ruin it for habitation by ourselves in the not-too-distant future.

20. Do you have an all time favorite song?
No.

Hahaha, I don't think I've seen a single person give this answer, but it's true, I have no one song I love more than AAAAAALL the other songs.

You know, for someone who quit watching the show over a year ago, I suddenly feel like I'm knee-deep in Doctor Who. Let's see, I just finished translating one episode and am starting another, I made a new icon *points*, I capped another episode and now I hear there are new spoilery pictures out there and I really really kinda want to see them. Anyone got a link?

caps, meme, tv: doctor who
