Project Runway
I'm okay with how it all played out, because Sweet P really did deserve to go home. I completely disagree with the judges, I didn't think it was "cute" or "wearable", and it really didn't make me think even a little bit about that peacock painting.
As for Chris and Rami, while I think it was a bit wishy-washy of the judges, well, I was hoping for Rami to go home, because really, my toga comment in my last post on the subject was ridiculously apt, it turns out. But Chris's dress felt like a ripoff. Of his own creation, sure, but still, not what I'd call bowling-over material.
Speaking of non-bowling-over material, I don't know if I'm just feeling all poo-poo right now, but the final collections didn't do much for me. Pretty much the only collection I've ever felt was worth its salt was Jay's from the first season.
In the second season, Santino's collection almost made it, but his poor choice in models who refused to show up for fittings made the collection not quite as good as it rightfully should have been. And that finale is forever tainted by Nina apparently being able to bring everyone around to voting for Chloe's horrible, couch-cushion-like monstrosities. And I was rooting for Chloe all season long, too! Boy, talk about a letdown of epic proportions. I can understand refusing to give it to Santino due to the poor fit, but giving it to Chloe over Daniel?! And I wasn't even that big a fan of his!
Anyway, back to this year's collections.
Christian's ensembles are totally and utterly predictable, with some added elements of horror (is that...
Santa's beard?). I just don't like his style, but I think he's probably going to win, because at least he has a style, which is more than I can say for the rest of them.
Chris's collection, well, it mostly felt like he wasn't trying to offend anyone, and in the process he ended up impressing no one. Though in my opinon, those feathers he seems to have developed a liking for are thiiiiis close to being offensive. Or, you know, just plain ugly.
Oh Jillian, where's the fierce coat I was hoping for? Is
this really the best you could come up with? An unimaginative rehash of one you did a much better job of in the competition? Also,
WTF IS THAT? In the end, I kinda almost have to give it to
Rami. I mean, I may HATE the shoulders on
this dress, but I love pretty much everything else about it, and he is the only one who managed to make something in gold that didn't look tacky as hell.
Though he did make one that looked tacky too. Multitalented, that guy.
I find I'm paralyzed with not caring very much.
No one has even made an attempt at number 7, but the rest have all been guessed correctly.
