What fresh hell is this?!

I'm growing increasingly annoyed with DVD sets these days. First we have the Spooks DVD sets, which have those plastic sleeves that you're supposed to insert the cardboard packaging into, and since it's open only at the top and bottom it has to fit really snugly or the DVDs will slip out. All this in combination means that the corners of the cardboard cover are mangled beyond imagination anytime you try to cram it into the sleeve. Also, the season 2 plastic sleeve is printed backwards and doesn't have the title on the spine facing out, but the one facing in. *headdesk*

Then we have Weeds. I watched the entire set on Saturday and I loved the show. I want to cap it, icon it, rewatch it right now (even though I have about fifty episodes of other shows lined up to watch). Which brings me to my issue with this DVD set. Seriously, full screen? What is this, the 20th century? I can sort of understand a show like Scrubs, which began its run when full screen was still the standard, but a new show like Weeds only releasing the DVD set in full screen baffles me. And makes me want to cry just a little bit, because FULL SCREEN!!! If I'd known it was full screen I probably wouldn't have bought the set. To those who watched the show as it aired, was it available in widescreen?

I also got the next volume of Doctor Who today, so I'll probably start capping that sometime soon. At least Rise of the Cybermen, The Age of Steel and The Idiot's Lantern are really pretty and pretty fun to watch, unlike some recent episodes of that show I've capped. *grumble grumble*

I capped some stuff this weekend too: Moulin Rouge, Practical Magic, AD 1x11 and Buffy 7x05.

caps, dvd sets, tv: weeds, capping
