I'm probably an anomaly among fic readers because I love WIPs. Love them to death! Updated every day, slow in coming, or stopped altogether - it doesn't matter. So, fic WIP recs under the cut. Mostly Spike/Buffy, because there tend not to be a lot of really good, plotty WIPs in the VM fandom. Which is a real shame, in my opinion.

- Out of Joint by sharelle. Spike/Buffy. Post-(whatever-AtS-episode-has-the-Cup-of-Perpetual-Torment). I love that every time there is an update of this fic I only need to read a few sentences to remember exactly what fic it is. And with the amount of WIPs I read? That's a rare thing indeed.
- Measure of a Man by gwyn_r. Spike/Buffy. Post-Grave. Every time there's an update of this fic I end up going back and rereading the whole thing. Not because I can't remember what it's about (though on at least one occasion I forgot the last update entirely, so it was like getting two new chapters in one!), but because I love it so.
- Holding the Curve by __tiana__. Logan/Veronica. Post-Ruskie Business. Just like Gwyneth's Measure of a Man I almost always reread this when there's a new chapter. Sometimes I try to anticipate a new posting by rereading it when there hasn't been an update in a while. Hey, it worked once!
- Softer World by constance_b. Spike/Buffy. Post-(somewhere-after-The-Killer-in-Me). Only just found this, and I'm eagerly awaiting more.
- Does It Have to Mean Something? by thedeadlyhook. Spike/Buffy. Post-NFA. Sequel to Dirty Back Road.
- Hollow Heroes by boschette. Spike/Buffy. Set in early to mid-season 7.
Barely just begun WIPs that look promising
- Shelter by devilpiglet. Logan/Veronica. Post-LItB. One chapter posted.
- All Fall Down at vm_summer (Various authors). Veronica/Logan. Post-NP. It's a virtual season 3! New chapters are supposed to be posted every Saturday! *loves* So far, only the prologue has been posted.

- Waking the Dead by anniesj. Spike/Buffy. My favorite post-Grave fic that I've reread many many many times. And couldn't care less that it's not finished, nor that Annie's moved on to other pursuits.
- Journeys by mary5958. Spike/Buffy. Post-Gift. I love the idea of how season 6 could have gone instead.
- Exquisite Corpse by d_irge and Thrombus. Spike/Buffy. Post-Wrecked.
- Thrall by chase820. Spike/Buffy. Post-Wrecked.
- Half-Gifts by automatedalice_. Spike/Buffy. Post-Grave. This one won't ever be updated, but it's still worth the occasional reread.
- Virtual Season 2 by theohara. Post-LItB. Actually, pretty much anything by theohara, but most especially:
- As the Romans Do by theohara. Post-NFA.
- A Life Uncommon by aliceroosevelt. Spike/Buffy. Post-Chosen, or actually veers off mid-Chosen, but the spoilers are still there.
- Many Roads by lilyann56. Spike/Buffy. AU.
- Summer Son by redrover1980. Spike/Buffy. AU. Though I've heard Red say she's working on it occasionally, but it doesn't matter to me if it's ever finished or not. It's the journey that's the point, not the destination.
