Things that make me a happy camper today:
- Life Goes On season 1 is coming out on DVD! And only 40 bucks, too. That's cheap.
- Veronica/Logan/Weevil snark from devilpiglet.
- My wheat pillow thingy. What the hell happened to my cozy heated apartment? The one people complained felt like a sauna? Don't know, but the wheat pillow makes up for it.
- The easy-as-pie move of the Wonderfalls gallery. I'm getting tired of all that renaming/converting/reuploading. *goes back to renaming/converting/reuploading*
- The VM discussion in my last post. Feels good to actually feel in tune with the show and the character again. Now just wait until Wednesday Thursday when I'm thrown another curve ball.
As for the latest RT thing, I'm just happy that for once I'm not on the receiving end. You know?
And the funny thing is that despite the things that RT says, I think he actually likes Lamb as a character, Logan as a character and Logan/Veronica as a couple. The problem is that he's coming across as a petulant child because people like his creations in the wrong way.
And telling the fans of the show that they are, in essence, "stupid little fangirls who are too blinded by the twu wuv/character lust" is not doing him any favors.
We are called fanatics for a reason. We take an interest in the show that goes way beyond the casual viewer. And though some of us have certain, shall we say "biases", that does not mean that we're wrong when we're pointing out problems. Dismissing them out-of-hand because of the source can only be described as foolish, but RT's continued assertions, without proof, that only V/L 'shippers or only Logan fans see problems this season is just plain madness. When a question is asked about Duncan, it isn't necessary to get a dig in at Logan and his fans. And when someone asks why V/D wasn't better handled, you don't need to assume they're V/L 'shippers. They may very well be V/D 'shippers who are pissed because their 'ship sucked.
And I have a feeling that even though he may still like the characters/'ships, people may sour on the whole show because of his statements about them. I know I've been turned off by the creative side of the show this season based almost solely on RT's interviews/chats/statement etc. Okay, and also partly because of the non-arc that was V/D. And Meg's stupid coma!baby. And the atrocity that was OAV. And the nonsensical plot of DR.
