It's been about a month since the fall season really got under way, so I thought I'd do a recap of what's what and what's not. Viewable, that is.
(I'm just looking at
this site, I can't really be sure they've got everything. But I think they do...except they don't have foreign shows, like Hex.)
Saturday
Why don't we start there, with Hex? I haven't watched the latest episode. I'm liking this season more than the last one, but I was never a raging fangirl. I'll definitely keep downloading and I may even buy the DVDs of season 1 now that season 2 is showing more promise.
Sunday
The West Wing is making me pretty happy this season, with the exception of the lack of Donna since the premiere. Please, oh please let her absence now mean she's got a juicy storyline coming up.
Monday
Arrested Development is great as always, and this hiatus is killing me.
Kitchen Confidential bores me, quite frankly. I do think it may have potential, but I'm far from bowled over by it.
Prison Break has been great for the past three episodes. I'll definitely keep watching.
I haven't even remembered that Surface has been on. I watched the pilot and my interest sort of fizzled. The lack of talk about it makes me suspect it's not long for this world either. If it's still around after November sweeps I may download all the episodes so far and see how it holds up. The pilot was pretty interesting.
Tuesday
I'm not feeling the love for Gilmore Girls this season. It's not that the episodes are that bad, they're just pretty dull. As are Luke and Lorelai. But I've heard optimistic comments about upcoming episodes so I'm holding out hope that things will heat up soon. Will continue to watch till it ends, no matter what.
My Name is Earl is still my favorite new comedy this season. Probably my favorite new show. It's just so unapologetically white trash and heartwarming at the same time.
I saw the pilot of Commander-in-Chief and found it to be a not-so-clever wannabe West Wing. Pass!
Supernatural is only interesting because of the brothers, and even then it's nowhere near as interesting as if it had been Scully and Mulder solving the cases. Which they may as well have been, considering how similar the two shows feel. Haven't watched the latest episode (even though I have it) and I don't feel any great urge to do so, either.
TAR has seen better seasons, but it's still the best reality show out there. Speaking of which, I watched the first Apprentice with Martha, but I can't be bothered to download it, so it's a gonner.
I haven't missed House during its hiatus and I may not continue to watch it when it comes back. We'll see...
Wednesday
Or as I like to refer to it: Veronica Mars Day! Still loving it. Very disappointed right now because I just saw that after this episode there's a week's hiatus. But they do have an upcoming episode called Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner, which makes up for EVERYTHING.
It's funny because I liked the Invasion pilot best of the supernatural ones this season, yet I haven't watched it since. I have episode 2, but when I went to watch it I just got bored and started surfing instead.
That 70s Show is returning next week (probably to make up for the lack of VM), but then there are no new episodes for all of November. What the frilly heck?!
Thursday
I just realized that Reunion hasn't been on for several weeks. Guess that just shows how invested I am in that show, doesn't it? But I still find it fun and cheesy, and it's my The O.C. replacement, so it stays. For now.
I caught up to episode 3 of Without a Trace this weekend. I still have one more episode to watch before I'm fully caught up. I'm liking it okay. The new agent is very obviously there as a romantic interest for Danny, but them seeming to know each other intrigued me. I only started watching last season, so maybe she's been on the show before?
Friday
NUMB3RS isn't doing it for me this season. It's okay, but it's missing something. Or, possibly, the addition of the new female agent (and her nails-on-a-chalkboard voice) is annoying me to a much greater extent than I thought. Not enough family interaction, that's for sure. I love that Navi Rawat is a regular now, though.
Threshold is actually one of the few shows I'm up to speed on, but that's mostly because I've stumbled upon it. I haven't really made an effort to find the episodes and I suspect that if I were ever to go a few weeks without remembering to download it I wouldn't pick it up again.
HOLY CRAP, that was long. And rambly. Oh, and I wonder when Scrubs is returning...
