My pretty new chair. Seat is leather, wood is walnut and peartree, I think. I got all confuzzled after a while, I just specified darker wood types.
I wanted to show the attention to detail - notice that no screwheads are visible, they're all hidden behind wooden plugs.
Wanted to show the side view too, as the back is kind of unique.
And of course as soon as the camera came out, so did my cat. Because she's a cam whore! Err, only not really, she just loves to play with the strap that's attached to the camera.

One thing I found odd was in the beginning when Phil went "Rob and Amber were the first to arrive...so they'll depart at blah blahdiblah". He always used to tell us when they arrived, so it got me thinking that maybe they've extended their rest period. It was just such a weird pause. Has he been doing that all season?
Much as Rob can act as a jackass sometimes I still love his antics. But most of all I love that he's playing the game. Even those times when he's not even playing the game he's strategizing and making his own weaknesses work for him. Yeah, convincing Ron and Deana to quit was going a bit too far, but you noticed it didn't take much to convince either of them. I think the other teams that took the penalty were actually quite relieved to be given an opportunity to quit. And it's not like that they actually had to do it.
I have a really hard time understanding what's so great about these eating challenges anyway. They say basically nothing about the country except for showing what type of food you can find there. But I doubt anyone from Argentina has ever eaten that much barbeque unless it was on a dare. Wouldn't it have been better if they just had to eat the brain? Or the blood sausage? What's the point in making your contestants sick from eating too much?
I loved the fact that Patrick and Susan and Bianca and Debbie got lost right out of the gate. And the comment that "all of them are so stupid" (implying that they'd catch up) by Bianca (or Debbie - damned if I can tell them apart) cracked me the hell up. How come when someone else gets lost it's a sign of their non-intelligence, but when they themselves get lost it's because they're bad at following directions? And it's not just them, it's all the teams that have ever been on this show.
Much as I disliked the girls, I did admire the fact that they sucked it up and finished the roadblock without much fuss. I think I'd actually have rather seen Patrick go, I must say. His obsession with Rob and Amber grates.
Much as it grates me when it comes to this week's winners. Dude, just run your own race and forget about your shitty vendetta that only tells me that you're jealous of their status going into the show! Sure, Rob's done some things that might not be fun for the other teams, but you know they're just kicking themselves because they didn't think of it first.
I think my biggest beef with all the teams' vendettas against R&A is that last season there was a truly despicable person on the race and no one ever went out of their way to take him out (probably because they didn't view him as a threat). And lord would I ever have loved any team that had done that. Even if it had been Freddie and Kendra.
Speaking of Freddie and Kendra, I've been thinking about something. I can't imagine that the producers would want their winners to be portrayed in a bad light. Not too bad, anyway, because it does bring down the whole show when the contestants are jackasses. So that kind of makes me wonder about the things that they didn't show Kendra saying. Makes the mind boggle, doesn't it?
Still no TAR icon. I think I'll have to cap this episode so I can make one.
