Full Moons, Queens and WhatNots

Yesterday was a pretty good day at work. Funny cuz a couple from Netherlands told me that I'm a pretty girl. HAHA. I was so amused. I think it's cuz our colourings so different. Then I got my first (and probably last) ever tip! For filling ice buckets for little old ladies! I think I really like helping old people cuz their so little and jolly and all.

After work, caught Jeff going out to the Rim Trail to see the full moon. Since today's a day off for me, I joined him and boy, it was so worth it. Jeff's this self-professed biology nerd who's pretty cool cuz he's nice, friendly, not vulgar, likes to hike and not too wild for me. Kaijie, Jolyn and I all went on the first (night) hike with him on our first night before work and that was so fun! The trail was unexpectedly tough though, probably due to the high altitude where you supposedly get like 70% of the usual amount of oxygen only. Anyway, the full moon was so bright last night that it lit the lining of the streaks of clouds that were near the moon. Then we came across a ranger volunteer who had set up his telescope to show us the craters on the moon, and also to show us Saturn! We could actually see the colour of and rings around Saturn! How cool is that! Then he told us how to find Polaris using the Big Dipper, and pointed out Spica and Vega. Then talked about the galaxies and spring being the season of galaxies cuz you can see lots when the moon isn't so bright. Then he talked about the NASA Hubble and all. Oh man it was so cool. I hope I'll be so knowledgeable someday too! =)

Today was a day off so just chilled around a little, watched The Ladykillers -- which was rather weird -- and hiked the Queens Garden Trail with the group but we were hurrying back like crazy on the climb back up cuz the sky was full of clouds and weather forecasts have it that it might rain or snow in the next few days. Pretty cool but this is like the least difficult trail supposedly. I need to find some way to get down to the other scenic points some miles off -- probably gonna try and get same day off as Jeff so we can go in his car! He drove all the way from Ohio -- 30 hours of driving. In this place, you can't get anywhere without a car really. The next nearest town is like 1 hour away -- and that's a small town.

Okay day off again tomorrow, probably just slack around a little. Maybe hike a little more but this time in daytime rather than setting off at 8pm again. Here it gets dark like 9.30pm only though.

Okay I'm off to bed!
