um, thankyou... I detest that photograph though, it's close but fuzzy enough that it doesn't quite look right. But that's just me being fussy over it ;)
umm I'm not entirely sure where the stack of stones came from... they were supposed to be greenish really, and rounder. They changed when I painted them, into sandstone blocks. A bit like a quarry. Portland's effect on me I guess, or maybe cause I was lonelyish owing to the totally empty house, and rocks are lonely things...dunno. The leaves were always gonna be there, because they look good on the green sky. The moon was a spontaneous addition, so that that corner wasn't empty, and the tree had to be there to fill in a gap when I redrew the top stones and to provide a reason for the leaves. The round stones needed to be there to complete the diagonal line, and to fill in a gap.
I suppose the analysis in art pays off, makes you think more about these things. It doesn't make you do these things, or put the things in the painting, but it does kinda make you realise why you put them there, and why they look right, or not right.
