Oh so sweet
It was a lovely morning in the Jones' Homes. The sun shone through the open window as a beautiful, brown owl landed on the sill carrying a letter with a very familiar seal.
"It's here, Will!" Liz grinned, taking the parchment from the bird and sending it on it's way. She quickly brought it over to the kitchen table and handed it to her husband.
"I'll go get him!" Will declared, beginning to get up from the table until his wife put a hand on his shoulder.
"No need" She told him, simply glowing with excitement, "Watch.."
The woman slowly strolled to the door, placing her hands on either side of it before she looked back at her husband, gave him a wink, and brought her gaze back to the staircase.
"Riley, darling!" She shouted, "Your letter arrived!"
Then, the woman quickly moved out of the way, listening as a thunderous noise came from the upper level of the house. Loud feet stormed down the stairs, rounding the corner of the landing and racing through the living room. Riley bolted into the kitchen in his flannel pajama pants. He snatched the letter out of Will's hand before hopping over the back of his chair to sit down.
"Thanks" Said a muffled voice, seeing that the teen had already shoved a piece of toast in his mouth before he carefully, yet quickly, broke the seal on the parchment. Never in all his years had he been so excited to see such a thing. He paused, savoring the moment before slowly unfolding the parchment.
And there it was, what Riley'd been waiting to see. There, in all it's glory was the Head Boy badge, Slytherin silver and Green.
"Well?" Liz inquired, looking from her husband to Riley.
All he could do was grin like an idiot and stare down at the badge.
"I'm Head Boy" He announced, laughing a bit as Liz hugged him from behind and Will patted him on the back.
