Parker arrived relatively early. He never liked late or grand entrances, especially when it meant having everyone turn to watch him arrive.

As soon as he popped up at the given location, however, he was immediately distracted by the decorations and set-up. Riley (or someone) had obviously gone to a great deal of trouble for the occasion, and he turned in place in search of his friend.

ooc: OMGYAY! ...this just helped make my day better.

Riley had been sitting on the far side of the deck with a shorter, thin Slytherin girl he'd known as Kathy Griffin and listening to her silly joked for at least ten minutes when he spotted Parker from across the room. Grinning, Riley turned to the girl, commanding her to remain silent while he called over his mate.

"OI!" He shouted, getting to his feet (the girl followed in suit), "We'll look who it is!"

"Surprised I showed up?" Parker answered, arching a smooth eyebrow as he approached O'Dannihugh. He didn't address the girl who seemed to be with him, but strode across the room to join his friend.

"Figured I might as well show if you're going to go to all the trouble of throwing a bash for us," he added, and then threw in a grin to punctuate the comment.

The red head cleared her throat, obviously waiting for an introduction of some sort.

Riley turned to her with a hiked eyebrow, "You sound horrible. Might want to get a drink" he told the girl before turning back to Parker.

The Kathy look straight at the boy, her expression shocked. She gave a huff and then stormed away, not bothering to even send a congratulations to the guest of honor. Riley watched her go, a smirk playing on his lips followed by a shrug.

"Yeah, if you didn't show up tonight I'd probably just disown you." He said simply with a nod, "And believe it or not, my- Will. Will put a shitload of this together."

"You wouldn't have the heart," he answered his first remark, and then graciously pretended not to notice Riley's initial slip.

"I see. Well remind me to thank him sometime. At least someone knows I'm worth the effort, yeah?"

After smirking at him a moment, Parker glanced around. "Expect many people to show, or will be have to entertain ourselves with the one you just offended?"

ooc: Why won't it send me your repliiiiies? >.<

Giving a roll of the eyes, Riley decided not to verbally retaliate against Parker's mock arrogance. He instead dropped back to sit in the chair he was in when his friend had first arrived, patting the one next to him.

"I invited 60 of our.. closest friends." said Ri, eyes scanning the deck for new arrivals, "So I'd hope it wasn't just us three the whole night. Plus, Bletchley will be here soon anyway. No need to fret."

ooc: Fwwahhh, I dunno! Did you get the Allie ones? Because if you got those, then it's lj effing up just Ri's comments and not with everything coming from my computer.

"The weight has been lifted from my shoulders. If we have Bletchley, then do we really need the others?" he answered with a smarmy grin.

"But until then," he started, and then dropped himself into the seat beside Riley, "what are we having to drink to get this started? Suddenly in the mood to drink myself into forgetfulness."

ooc: For fuck's sake. No, I think it's my yahoo email. I should switch his over to gmail too, but beh. I haaaaate it.

"Oh reallly? And what might have brought this on?" Riley inquired, rising from the seat and motioning for Parker to follow. The teen then led them across the deck and over to a neatly organized table with an assortmant of dishes placed upon it. Next to the table sat the life of the party- the keg.

Hinds in pockets, Riley smirked, "Will bought it for us."

"Just some unfinished business I had hoped I could avoid rather than tend to," he answered honestly, and then eyed the keg.

"Looks like Will's got the right idea," he half-joked, nodding in approval at the keg.

Transfiguring himself a mug to use, Parker helped himself to the alcohol before pausing while gesturing with it toward Riley. "You'll be joining me, right?"

Without answering, Riley had already followed in suit and transfigured a mug of his own.

"I must say, it feels more than a bit weird to drink something your Dad buys you.." This time he didn't catch himself until it was too late. Biting the inside of his lip, Riley tightened his grip on the mug in an effort not to pay the mistake any mind. Silently, he too filled his mug and took a nice sip.

"You're pretty good at this vague thing." He backtracked, glancing up to meet Parker's eyes, "I suppose I shouldn't ask about it, yeah?"

Completely ignoring Riley's questions just for the moment, he squinted his eyes thoughtfully at him before speaking. His mouth held a small curve, just enough to make Riley know he would back off of the conversation willingly if it was necessary.

"Getting to like them a bit more?" he asked casually.

Riley mumbled something along the lines of "maybe" before lips lips returned to his drink. While sipping the content, his eyes scanned the perimeter, landing on the growing pile of presents sitting on a table near the door.

"Look, gifts." He said in a casual drawl, changing the subject once again for his own benefit, "Bet your just itching to know what you've gotten."

"Presents?" Parker echoed, visibly interested and surprised. "Hope you didn't go to the trouble of hosting the party and supplying presents, or else I might feel I owe you more than just a simple thanks," he smirked.

It had been an obvious switch, but one he was more than willing to follow. "Any ideas on what I've gotten so far?"

"HA!" Riley let out a short laugh, venturing towards the gifts table, "Sometimes I think you push how much money I'd be willing to spend on you."

Riley's eyes looked over the table, scanning the colorfully wrapped gifts. He stopped over one, recognizing the shape.

"Well, this brilliant soul's brought you a bottle of something." He chuckled

Parker laughed along with him, amused at such an appropriate present. "Think I might just take that one now," he decided, reaching across onto the table to grab the obviously wrapped gift.

Reading the tag before he opened it to be sure he knew who to thank for the thoughtfulness later, he found a suspicious looking bottle inside. He didn't recognize the labeling or the coloring, and the words had been conveniently obscured.

"Didn't invite any enemies of mine to this event, did you?" he asked Riley, shooting the other boy a look as he uncorked the bottle to sniff the contents.

"Hm" He hummed, pondering the thought for a moment as he studied the bottle.

"Don't think I did" He admitted honestly, "Who should I have avoided sending an invitation to?"
