It had been a long week, dealing with Tai-San, with Java, helping Java every day after she'd been broken and ruined, watching the deterioration of a strong woman, tortured and left tied to a chair with various creepy crawlies as roommates, hard lessons to gain her loyalty enforced upon her to varying degrees. It was hard on him even, to not talk to

"I brought you some breakfast, are you hungry?" he asked softly, how he wished he'd been able to talk to her all week, caring and gentle. He moved back behind her and untied the blindfold for the first time, pulling it away from her head, there was no need for it any longer. He moved around and stood in front of her, arms crossed over his chest. "If you're hungry, I will feed you," he offered, waiting expectantly for a response.

Ignoring his question, ignoring the offer to feed her, you sick bastard, Java glared up at him for a long moment. "Why?" she spat, even as the lessons Line had ingrained in her began to cycle back through her mind. I'm worthless, I have failed him. The anger boiled in her, consumed her, but there was suddenly a rush of weakness with it, of deeply ingrained subordination, as she kept her eyes trained on him. She hated him, God, she hated him, but she was also weak, she was worthless, and he.. he was in charge, and... and... Her voice waivered slightly, with fury and self-loathing. "Why are you doing this?"

Java pointedly ignored the toast he offered her, though it smelled good; she'd be damned if she was going to take one more meal from his hands. She hated him, hated him for what he'd done to her, and yet... and yet he'd been so kind to her this week, she remembered, he'd been her caretaker, her salvation, her friend, and now he was offering her food, and she was starving and... Java met his eyes, his own still sparkling angrily, and was surprised to find something almost resembling kindness there. It wasn't right, she reminded herself, he was a monster, this was all his doing, and yet she was a whore, trash, and he'd still been so kind to her. None of it made sense, and Java's expression softened slightly, confused, as she held his gaze. Manners are extremely important, chirped the voice. Still ignoring the food, she felt her lower lip quiver slightly; she was so angry, and so hungry, and very, very confused. "Untie me," she said, never breaking eye contact. She had intended it to come out as an order, like the orders she had given once, in another lifetime, but her voice came out thin and fragile, the anger slowly giving way to everything that the week with Line had instilled in her, and her words sounded more like a question. She ran the tip of her tongue across her lower lip, squaring her shoulders and trying to be strong. "At least give me that much."

She ate delicately, minding her manners and keeping her eyes downcast. Mega had been gentle to her this week, she reminded herself; she should be grateful.

Java finished the muffin and milk, the drink feeling calming to her parched palatte, and dared to glance up at Mega. "I can help you with that," she said, quietly, her voice soft and her expression submissive, trustworthy. "Ram trusts me... He always has." Java licked her lips, once, and put on a fragile smile. "What do you want to know?"

"Now," Mega said with a sigh, "this," he motioned at the needle in the mans hand, "Is one of Line's greatest creations ever," he smirked a bit, proud to have the genius chemist on his roster. The third man walked towards Java, cleaning the skin of her upper arm with an alcohol pad before gently sticking the needle into Java's arm and injecting the liquid. When he'd retracted his tool and stepped back amongst the other men, Mega crossed his arms over his chest and sighed. "That is a liquid tracking device. I will always be able to find you, no matter where you go in the city, in the country, anywhere Java, you can not escape me. However," he sighed, trying to remember how to describe this to her exactly. "There are side effects. You have to return within 24 hours to receive either a booster of the liquid, or the antidote, or you will die," he didn't blink when he said it, but telling her she'd die, it was horrible. Mega did care about her, in ways no one could know, but he mentally shook it off, pursing his lips a bit. "So you will report back here every day, at the same time," he checked his watch, "It is now 8am. You will be given a watched to keep track of time. It's probably best to come back every night before 8am, but if you want to play this dangerously," he said with a shrug. "I'm told the first symptom is a racing heart, then pain and discomfort. Then, cold sweats, and, something about discomfort in your extremities," he leaned down close to her face, "Don't mess this up Java, you will die, and it will be painful," he told her firmly before turning and walking away.
He turned back, circling her again and unlocking the pain bracelet, dropping the gooey mess onto the floor, then took out a sharp pocket knife and began carefully cutting at the rope. "If you don't comply, Java, your sister, Siva, and Ram, will both suffer at the hands of Line, just as you have, and you will have the pleasure of watching their untimely demise," he was leaning in close to her head as he said it, low and near her ear, watching as he cut at the rope.

The bracelet was removed, and Java twisted her wrist slightly, amazed at the feeling of exposed skin, as the device hit the floor with a muffled 'splat.' She felt a slight pull on the ropes, he was cutting them, and suddenly the actuality of it hit her-- They were going to let her go. It was only temporary, of course, but they were letting her go. She'd be able to see the sun again, able to eat and bathe and -move-... The haze in her head cleared a bit as a strong, primal desire for life surged through her; Java did -not- want to die down here, did not want to die at all; she was young, and beautiful, and she would live through this, somehow. She just needed to find a way to keep Ram safe, too... As she considered this, Line's phrases beginning to die down in her head again, Mega resumed speaking, and Java glanced back at him. "If you don't comply... Siva and Ram will both suffer." Her eyes narrowed very slightly; Java refused to put her sister or her husband in harm's way for anything, and she could only assume that her failure to return to the base would be seen as an act of non-compliance... The answer, then, was just as she had originally thought, Java realized: She needed to convince Mega that Ram was a valuable asset to his new organization; she needed to prove that Ram could be useful. Then, they would all be safe, and her husband would have a new future; it would be for the best that way.
The ropes around her wrists gave way, and Java gingerly pulled her hands around to her front, wincing as the muscles in her arms screamed at her. It had been too long since she'd been able to move... She placed her hands on her lap and glanced down at them for a quiet moment before looking up at Mega, twisting slightly in her chair to better see him. "I don't think non-compliance will be a concern," Java said, quietly, her eyes sparkling with a tiny glimmer of the strength and spirit they had once held. "You can be... rather persuasive." She gave him a tiny smile, fighting the urge to lash out at him, to catch him in her arm and pull him down to her level in a stranglehold, to force the guards to give her the antidote and release her. She could barely move, Java knew; while she could have bested Mega with no trouble a week ago, things had changed. Besides, pointed out a voice in her mind, that would be awfully rude of you.
She slowly leaned down, her body screaming in protest, to untie her ankles.

The main entrance wasn't far from the elevator, and her steps were still shaky as the men opened the front doors and gently pushed her into the sunlight.
