Ponderer

A frightened wanderer...
I hold onto, and ponder her...
And what might be,
The day to day, assembly,
From that which we're told,
impending thoughts, pending unfold,
As the end we thought was near,
It's never so close as that my dear.

And to this day, I'll never understand this place,
A rumored alibi, you disappeared, without a trace,
And I never thought that I could underestimate,
The power of feelings, how they instantiate.

I pull my eyes closed...
Feather-light insomnia has been imposed,
A light in my head,
Leads me to believe this love is never dead,
A hope against hope,
That I find some closure, a gentle slope,
But the truth was far from here,
It's never so close as that my dear.

And to this day, I'll never understand this place,
A rumored alibi, you disappeared, without a trace,
And I never thought that I could underestimate,
The power of feelings, how they instantiate.

So I take a step back,
The busy roads, the click and clack,
The world returned again,
A life I forgot, but that was when,
I fell into your bed,
A warm embrace, I was beloved,
But I turned my back in fear,
It's never so close as that my dear.

And to this day, I'll never understand this place,
A rumored alibi, you disappeared, without a trace,
And I never thought that I could underestimate,
The power of feelings, how they instantiate.
