thanks! how did it go for you? did you feel tangibly better when it was all done with? lose any weight? also, if i recall you are going to burning man this year and i am really really trying to make that happen. do you have room in a vehicle of sorts? what are your plans?

I have done the cleanse twice, 10 days each time, 3 years apart. Yes I felt better in the sense that I felt lighter and purged and clean slate-y. I lost weight both times, this last time I lost 13 lbs. But each time I gained back half of what I lost immediately, pretty sure it's partially dehydration.

I am going to Burning Man. I have my ticket. Beyond that, I have no set plans. I really want to rent an RV but I need several people willing to go in on it to make it cost effective, and so far I only have one friend committed.

This weekend I'm going to SOAK with hopes to either join someone else's group, or recruit some to go with me. I really don't want to be in a tent for BM.

So yeah, let me know what % firmness your commitment is and I'd love to plan with you.

Holy crap that looks so fun! 2 of my friends invited me to join in on the rv action which would be about $500 each. I figure that out there, it's going to be hot and dusty no matter what. Plus combine the cost of gas driving there, and the fact you have clean up and dump out the rv when you're done.... it just seems like a lot of unnecessary hassle and expense when you're going to be roughing it no matter what.
I wonder how much it would cost if 5 people went in on an rv... and how big it would be?? i should be making my decision really soon. still working out the mode of transportation and lodging, but everything else is cool and doable.

It's about $1500 to rent a 5-person RV for 10 days, plus gas costs. So probably about $400/pp

And yeah, I get the roughing it thing but I'm not going to test my survivor skills, I'm going for the BM experience. With the huge temperature changes between day/night and the wind storms, I just feel like some solid walls and would be a nice retreat from a lot of that. It's a long time to camp and I'd like a comfortable base so I don't go insane.

But if I can't swing it, I'll roll with the punches.
