My new pet peeve..
These days it is rare that I have either the time or the patience to probe for new and good music on the internet, however when I do.. as in this current instance, the blatent manner in which "artists" name drop vexes me.. greatly.
If I do a search for a similar sound and the results that have been returned to me are what I find to be arbitrary and far from what I was looking for.. I'm annoyed.
And then I started thinking to myself.. Who the fuck said they sound like *fill in the blank with some random musical interest* .. And the answer??? THEY DID.. Stupid fuckers... There is a HUGE difference between being influenced by *insert influential musical interest* and sounding like *once again insert musical interest*.. THIS PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF.. Bands/artists/musicians should NOT be allowed to advertise anything in the "what do I sound like" catagory.. JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO SOUND LIKE SAY, Poe for instance, doesn't mean you sound a DAMN FUCKING thing like her.. and if I was, say, Poe, for instance.. and I was searching for music with a similar styling as my own..and I found something, that was NOTHING, NOTHING, like my music.. I would be insulted and pissed off..
