I feel for you; I'm exactly the same in those conversations. Granted I've never been asked on a date, but during my first year of uni I did manage to score a free socialist magazine after my lame polite knock-back of "sorry, I don't have any cash on me" failed to deter the fanatical Socialist Alternative girl. And then somehow got sucked into what felt like an hour-long lecture about the evils of imperialism, having made some mild comment about how, yes, I disagreed with the war in Iraq, but since we'd destroyed the country's infrastructure maybe we ought to stick around to rebuild? And then I found myself agreeing to go to a rally I had no intention in hell of actually attending in the vain hopes that maybe that would make her happy and she would go away. Unfortunately, this led to a volley of "OKAY I WILL MEET YOU AT THE RALLY!", at which point I finally managed a "sorry, I have a tute now, gotta go" and fled.

But this guy definitely takes the cake. "No? You don't want to accept Jesus into your life? Well, can I interest you in a piece of this action?" God, I hope that approach has never actually worked for him.
