Guys,
For Africa, I am teaching Sunday school to adults and children and it would be wonderful if I can bring presents for them. However, I am starting to run low on African funds so if anyone wants to donate candy, hairpins [for the girls], flipflops or etc, your help is extremely appreciated.
However, when I recieve these donations, I will need them in great multitudes because the village people are known to fight over such things. I will be instructing classes ranging from 50 to over 100 people so I know that is a bit overbearing so money is also highly useful so that I can gather and buy things in bulk pack.
For example, Flip flops there are a luxury. They cost fifty cents each in Africa, but they wear them on their hands after they leave church because they want to save the soles. They cannot afford these 50 cent flip flops. Things like this really make me greatful for the things I have here because I have at least 7 pairs of flipflops that I just toss around. There, they use it like it is something of upmost importance.
I will take donations of money or candy or little gifts to bring with me, but I can only bring a certain amount of weight with me because I will be taking local planes from Kenya to Rwanda. So please, try to donate something as I will make sure that it goes to good use. A dollar in a small village in Rwanda can mean so much to a whole family.
Thanks :].
p.s. for those who donate a lot, i will try and bring back souvineirs. however, idk how easy that would be because we are not going into tourist places; just remote pygmy villages and such. And i need this before i leave so before June 30th. [preferably before June 24th because I will be in St. Francis U for a program until the day before my flight].
