I must say, this last week of school was fairly gratifying. I saw both Jordan and Stef pass Taffy without even glancing at her. She's been wandering around like a mopey thing; didn't even glare at me in the teacher's lounge for once. Which was surprising, since I'd assumed she'd figure out I was behind the defection of her boys right away. But if she's slipping, who am I to complain? Even Principal Emerson has laid off the annoying questions, and I can finally get back to work on paper grading in peace.

Next week begins the torture that will be finals in my speech class--persuasive speeches, on the topic of the students' choice. I really wish now I'd made up topics myself and dropped them in a hat, after seeing some of the ones the students came up with. This may make the decision of whether I want to stick with teaching or not...it's turning out not to be my cup of tea. Not to mention, I have been klutzy as hell all week--broke my favorite coffee mug, misplaced my car keys like thirty times, tripped in the hall at school and banged my knee up something fierce.

I'll stick out the year, of course, and go play chaperon at the prom, even though I really don't need Young Love in my face for an entire evening, especially with my own love life pretty well dry as a bone, except for the couple of nights with Stefan. And for that matter, I don't need to find out more about Taffy, seeing as I've found her Achilles heel. It'll be something to do on the weekend anyway. Tonight? I think I might pop into Willy's Place--about the only thing there is to do in this town.
