Well, I must say, Friday's small rehearsal was a lot less rambunctious than the previous ones. Which was certainly a relief; I don't always know my spells are going to go off as planned, and I am out of practice. But it seems to have worked, peace reigned in the auditorium, and I feel much more positive about our production being a success. Thank

"Hey, Heather. How's it going?" I really haven't seen her since me and Avasa got done working on the balcony for the play.

The bartender stops in front of me and I order a rum and coke, then turn my attention back to Stefan. "Are you here...alone?" I glance around--not a sign of Taffy anywhere.

I take another gulp from my glass. I'm gonna need another one pretty soon.

"Oh good, two for one!" I say. "I haven't had time to drop in on her at school lately. The play's still running me ragged, for the most part." I smile and pick up my drink when the bartender sets it down. "How's the construction coming along?"

I shove my empty glass to the side. "I think everybody's been busy. You'd be hard pressed to catch Taffy these days between her students and her boyfriend bein' back in town."

"We are close," I say, taking a sip of the fresh beer Willy hands me. "She's my best friend. I've kinda sworn off dating for a while. It never ends well." I smile and shrug. "And yeah, she's psyched. Actually, he works at the school now. You might've seen him. Teaches music."

"Oh, yes, I noticed him in the teacher's lounge the other day," I say, trying to hide my disappointment. "I was in a rush and didn't have time to introduce myself, but I will soon."
"So, some girl really did a number on you? Or was it a lot of girls?" I take another sip of my drink. I really ought to slow down.
