The play preparations are going along quite smoothly now. I'm a little amazed how smoothly, since I certainly didn't protect against schedule delays or anything. Or our actors' egos. And yet, not only did Eric accept getting Mercutio instead of Romeo without much in the way of protest, he now seems to be avidly throwing himself into the role. The others seem to be making rapid progress learning their parts. Stefan and Avasa are nearly done with the balcony set. And I haven't seen or heard anything from our auditorium phantom, so for now I'm just going to assume it was my imagination.

All a little too good to be true--I've been knocking wood a lot.

Avasa...seems kind of odd, he's given me some strange looks. But he's done great work on the set, so you won't hear me complaining. Stefan is a bit more sociable; we had a nice chat the other day as he was taking a break from work. And in spite of it, I'm still not totally certain whether he and Taffy are an item or not. They're living in the same duplex, apparently spend a lot of free time together, but they just don't seem like a couple. And besides, there was that cryptic comment he made about the woman with whom it didn't work out. Oh, well, I enjoy a challenge, and he appears to be one.

He did turn me on to a good secondhand place on campus, and I found quite a few items that we can use for costumes, with a little alteration. I was going through the files of the old drama director and found the numbers of a couple of mothers who volunteered to help with costumes previous years. I guess calling them is the next item on the agenda.
