Yesterday I went to a free yoga class in Union Square park as part of their weekly Summer in the Square. I loved it...beautiful sunny day, nice breeze, meditative om yoga. And the farmers' market was out, and that's one of my favorite parts of summer in the city- the farmers' market in Union Square.
and last night I saw Spring Awakening, the new off-broadway musical, with Ben Thorpe! It was so great to see him, and to see a show with him!! Before the show, we talked to one of the producers. He got our e-mail addresses because he wants our input on how to draw in audiences of our age. We saw Matthew Morrison sitting in the audience, and apparently Stephen Sondheim was there as well but we didn't see him..anways, the show was fantastic!! I absolutely loved it. Contemporary-rock style score, edgy book, excellent choreography. Lea Michelle was fantastic and so was Jonathan Groff. After the show Ben and I stayed after to meet some of the actors and got most of the leads' autographs. Infact, in meeting them, Ben and I were the first to find out that the show is planning on moving to Broadway! They had just received the news a half-hour before the show.
Afterwards, Ben and I got some frozen yogurt and talked...he told me that everyone including Mrs. D'Antonio is 99% sure that we're doing Jekyll and Hyde for competition!! I'm so freakin excited- how badass!! Since I've been in the class, we haven't done a true drama, so I'm really excited about that.
I love Ben. Ben and Josh are two of my best guy friends and I'm really happy that we'll be together next year.
I'm at the office right now. It's been a little more productive today, but I have time to update. Tonight is Rob's birthday so he's having a fiesta at The Frying Pan tonight. Maybe Matt will come?
