This is beautiful. I love the last line especially -- the bittersweet pain of feeling that forever is not long enough. Perfect.

Also the line about Matt holding the tea and knowing it is going to burn simply smolders with want and portent.

Only a tiny nit to pick -- "Case of You" is a Joni Mitchell song, covered by Diana Krall. One of the best songs ever written, used here to excellent effect.
