Backdated - during Hogsmeade Trip

They all had their roles assigned, and each of the students knew what they would be doing during the day. It had been difficult to pretend to mix in with the rest of Hogwarts, knowing that they were all busily excited about a trip to the nearby wizarding village, when the seven of them (Harry, Ron, Hermione, Seamus, Parvati, Ginny, and Neville) knew that something much more important was happening today.

Victor had agreed to meet Harry at the Shrieking Shack again. Ron, Hermione, and Seamus had very determinedly told Harry that they would be lurking nearby as he used the cloak to slip away from the other students and up the rocky path toward the dilapidated shack. None of them would listen to his attempts toward convincing them that it was safer if they simply stayed away. Parvati was to keep an eye out for the Professors and the Headmistress, and Harry had asked Ginny and Neville both to keep an eye out in order to try to keep any other students from noticing Harry's disappearance or following behind him when he tried to shake them off.

After that, nobody was quite sure what would happen.

Harry was determined to find out where they had taken Dumbledore and what had happened to him so far. Hermione had tried pleading with him to only find out information, and then report the information to Tonks and Sirius so that the adults could go rescue him, but Harry already had his mind made up. If he could convince Victor to take him to Dumbledore, then he was going to go, no matter what.

Standing in an alley nearby the Shack, Harry glanced one more time to be sure nobody was watching him and then slipped the cloak around his shoulders, leaving his head exposed as he gave a few final words of instructions to his friends. "Remember, if you don't hear from me right away, don't panic. I can't do anything that might let him know something is going on, so I might be in there a while. I promise I'll be okay. He doesn't suspect anything, I'm sure of it," he reassured them, giving Hermione a small smile and then a bracing one toward Ron.

Hermione smiled tightly back at him, swallowing visibly over a small lump of worry, and Ron nodded his head, that look in his eyes that always came when he knew something important had to be done.

Seamus was last, and Harry leaned in to give him a quick kiss before grinning at him, the expression a bit strained, but still crooked enough to make the other boy feel better. "Make sure you don't eat all of my fudge while I'm in there, okay mate?" he teased lightly, finally reaching up to pull the cloak over his head as well.

He gave Seamus' hand one final squeeze and clapped a hand against Ron's shoulder before walking away, making his way quietly down through the end of the alley between the shops and toward the gates to the Shack.

ooc:

Seems like we never really had most of the players we would need on at the same time (including me), so I decided instead that I'm going to write some of Harry's part during the Hogsmeade trip and all of that into one narrative post or maybe in pieces.

The characters who would be involved otherwise can comment to this post with their part either before/during/after what I have here. Feel free to work things in. I might use Ron some during it since Chrissy gave permission (and maybe Hermione until we actually get a username set up for her), but I'll try to avoid writing anyone else in too much. If you don't like what I've "assigned" your character to be doing, then please just poke me and I'll edit. :)

I'd like to get this plot wrapped up, so I apologize if it seems like I'm rushing it.

This would have happened during Hogsmeade weekend. There will be another post tomorrow which actually involves Harry & Co. going off to try to save Dumbledore - he will send a note to Tonks/Sirius then, so they will/can join in during that post. :)

(I understand that there is another large DE plot going on with Linney, but this would have happened prior to that point, and I suppose that only rumors would have filtered out the students anyway.)

We can assume that the repercussions that involve Marion will happen very soon - possibly tomorrow or this weekend. I'll need to speak with Vati and find out how soon we can assume she would tell Tonks/the others, etc.

Any questions? Comments?
