"I want it done before dinner, and I meant it."

Harry was not in the mood to be packing, especially considering he wasn't even sure he was willing to return to school at all. Being told he had to pack only made him less inclined to get it finished ( Read more... )

Seamus sighed and scratched his head, glancing over to Harry and offering the boy a grin. "Better get on with it, mate, the sooner it's done, the less we'll have to do later. And anyway," he added, "when me mam speaks luike that, she means it."

"Anyway," he added, brightening up a bit at the thought as he knelt down besides his trunk to start, "we'll have fun afterwards, yeah?"

"If you think it's such a good idea, then you can pack for me, too," Harry replied, his tone a bit more clipped than usual.

His eyes shifted over toward Seamus next, and he watched him kneeling down. "And the faster you do it, the faster you can get to helping me have fun."

Seamus grinned, passing over the tone as if it hadn't been. "Yeah? And what do I get for that bargain?" he asked teasingly, starting to chuck all the clothes and schoolrobes his mother had washed into his trunk.

"And what if I pack it wrong for you, mate? I'm not like a madam of the household, I just throw things. Your clothes will be all wrinkly."

"You get to help me have fun," he answered graciously.

"And you won't pack it wrong for me. I don't care about wrinkles, and I can always have the elves or someone unwrinkle them when we get there," he pointed out.

Looking upward again, he stretched his muscles a bit, arching his back before falling back to the mattress. "How long is this going to take you?"

"Maybe about twenty minutes," Seamus replied, moving on to throwing his socks into the trunk. "Thats if I add in the essentials, like... other things," he ttrailed off, wondering what could count as essentuials. Toiletries would be added the morning he left, as usual...

"Usually takes me ten minutes for my own, and about ten minutes for you, I imagine will be over quitequickly, really. How would you like me to entertain you afterwards? Any requests, O my Harreo?"

The nickname prompted a twitching at the corner of his lips, but he didn't indulge it much. Instead, he pulled a small plastic ball from his pocket and began tossing it up. It hit the ceiling and came back down, just in time for him to toss it again.

"Try for fifteen. I'm already bored, and I don't want to wait twenty," he instructed him. "And I figure you can think up something. "Something that doesn't involve a chocolate frog. If I eat another one of those, I'll explode. Besides, I have a match coming up against Ravenclaw in a couple weeks," he added as an afterthought.

"You'll win," Seamus told him devoutly, knowing it was only the truth. "Ravenclaw's good, but you're the best. Although your beaters are thugs," he added as a slight afterthought

He yawned as he started on the underwear, throwing them in the general vicinity of the inside of the trunk where his socks were. In another few minutes, he'd be done to start in on Harry's.

"They get the job done," he answered him without sympathy. Crabbe and Goyle were morons to put it lightly, but their thug tactics were incredibly effective.

Harry never had to worry about rogue bludgers or...hell, he barely had to worry about the other beaters at all. Half the time they were put out of commission to some extent early on by a foul or barely hidden unnecessary hit.

...It was true. They did get the job done.

"You have a point," he admitted, and grinned over his shoulder at Harry as he went to go close his trunk, sitting on it for a minute after the lock clicked shut.

"You really want me to do yours for you?"

Harry's twitching smile turned quickly downward, glancing over at Seamus.

"What, you aren't going to now?" he asked him, his tone sharpening once more.

"Sure I am," he replied, blinking a bit at Harry's tone change before grinning again. "Just wanted to check you hadn't change dyour mind," he added teasingly, sliding off his trunk to go to Harry's.

"What do you like on the bottom of your trunk? Your robes or you underclothes or what?"

"All my junk goes on the bottom," Harry started, and then lifted his head just a bit to catch Seamus' gaze. "If there's anything already there, just leave it. You can start with my socks and boxers and things above it," he added.

Oddly, he hadn't really thought of the pyramid he'd received as an early birthday present until then, but he wasn't willing to have a conversation with Seamus about it either. It was best just to leave it there doing nothing until he had an extra bit of time available to find out what the contraption actually did.

"Mmm, okay," Seamus mumbled, only half listening as he threw in some socks. One fell a little awkwardly over a point and he paused, looking into the trunk and pulling it off curiously.

Harry had a pyramid in his trunk.

Seamus cocked his head at it, wondering, then shrugged and continued throwing stuff in, grabbing all that he could currently reach around him for starters before moving away to chuck other things into the hole. "Nice pyramid, mate. Where did you put your ties?"

His jaw tightened briefly, but he didn't answer anything regarding the mention. If Seamus was content to move along without asking, then he was willing to play along with the oblivious tack.

"There," he said, pointing to the ties hanging off of Seamus' dresser. He hadn't been too careful putting them away.
