Alright, so I have finally gotten all of my research done, and now I am all set to start writing my Albrecht Durer paper... but I had to take a time out to make known my love of research papers. Like, in all seriousness. I've written them on various things, from how the media effects teenage girls to Taoism... but I really love them. Parenthetical citations make me feel so accomplished, as does writing the bibliography. And it's very satisfying to me to have to decide whether to paraphrase or to put in a direct quote, and how to weave it all together in a comprehensive way. And I just love learning in general. And learning often involves research! And in writing a paper, I am able to say "Yes, I have a very good understanding of this subject. *whips out paper* SEE?"
I am pleasantly surprised with how interesting Durer is. He has multiple phenomenal watercolor studies of nature, and his more serious works are extremely symbollic. He reminds me of myself, sometimes, because he had a slight obsession with the future, and being remembered. He kept a diary because of that - I love how focused he was on being remembered.
Ok I'm done now.
Time to ACTUALLY START WRITING!
