Examssss

Hello computer. It’s been too long. I have just stopped after 2 and a half hour’s revision. C3 surprisingly is fine, but C4 is getting to me a bit. There is so much from the last chapter that is just so complex. There are too many rules for integration. I worked through 3 exercises on various rules, but I haven’t done volume integration (p times the integral of y2), integration by parts, trapezium rule (yes this comes up again, but harder), the rest of the exercise where they ask you to use trigonometric identities, integration using partial fractions (yay, natural logs!), integration using standard patterns, integration by substitution, parametric integration, integration by separation of variables, and then there’s integration in a context (usually related to a differential equation about liquids, increase rates or decay rates). And that’s just chapter 6. The vectors chapter is in principle very easy, but the questions are confusing. I thought C3 was hard, but then I thought C1 was hard at the beginning of the year, and then I thought C2 was hard while we were doing that. Looking back, everything seems easier. Like the whole of AS was easy in comparison to A2, like GCSE is to AS. So A2 will probably seems easy when we start further maths. I am excited that we will get to start really advanced maths soon, but I am dreading how much time and effort its going to take. I hope I can understand it. And I hope we get a good teacher as well. Mav was terrible, harsh as it is to say that. She should not teach A level; she asked us what the stats book meant, which was stupid as we were the ones she was teaching. And stats is only S1. I do not want her to teach us S2. I think I would have done so much better in M1 if we had a decent teacher. She supposedly knew what she was doing on that one, but I only see her lessons as a waste of time. I am not going to go to her lessons in the next week while I revise C3 and C4, because it will be a complete waste of time. Actually, it will be a waste of time when we go back after the exams seeing as she will not be teaching us next year (YES! HI!) But equally I cant see her letting us do maths puzzles under trees outside in the sunshine.

Mechanics was hard. I thought I had done enough revision, but the exam somehow confused me and the vectors question was hard, even though I knew I could do it. I messed up. I found t then didn’t use it. Because im an idiot. And then in the physics exam I was feeling terrible- runny nose, cough, sneezing, blowing nose, headache etc. I was making so much noise. The first paper (Physics in action) was really hard. Again, I hadn’t done enough revision, and I was annoyed that I didn’t get a few of the questions that asked you to “show that..” because I know ive definitely got them wrong. Usually I like those questions because they give you confidence that you know you’ve got them right. I hope my coursework makes up for the exam, because im quite pleased with my coursework. I got a 37 out of 40 on the interpreting data, which was the highest ever. I worked out friction using my mechanics knowledge :] it was hard and took me a whole evening, so I hope its worth it.

So far, the exams are not going too well. C2 went ok, I think I have got a good mark on that one. I will be very disappointed if I haven’t. it was technically my easiest exam. Im finally getting to grips with the trigonometry questions in C3. It’s a matter of looking at what you are trying to find and working backwards. How can I get cotx from secx? Or tanx from cosecx? Or making sin2x into cos2x sort of thing.

I still have a cold, which is annoying. I hope it goes away by Thursday, because I do not want a repeat of the physics exams. Its really annoying that everyone else has finished their exams, they all have today off before going back to school tomorrow. And im revising. Bleh. But I hope Laura is ok, because Si has gone away for 7 weeks o_o I will drive to Horsham and visit her after exams. Im gonna go and have a shower in a minute, then ill feel fresher after finishing revision. I think 3/4 hours is enough revision for a day. I will go into school tomorrow for Mr Brooks’s lessons, and ill have to talk to the English teachers about whether its ok to miss their lessons to revise for maths. Im sure I wont miss anything. I will probably have to give up English anyway. I really want to paint my nails again, but it stains them. Ill try using clear first and then painting over that. Yeah. I avoided revision for 2 hours this morning making a slideshow for myspace of pictures of friends and so on. I want to get Lexii back. It was an amazing story, and hilarious fun. I am SO going to have to meet up with Laura and do that. I try to explain it to Matt but without the writing its not the same. Oh I so want to see Regina Spektor live. I’m gonna go and play piano now and then take a shower. Rebecca, my Scottish cousin that never talks left me a message on bebo today, that was WEIRD cos I swear she never said anything back to me when we actually met lol

Life is strange. And hella fun :D

Sigh-ning out, (<-- OMG that is the best typo ive ever made, I swear I didn’t meant to do that)
