I took Anthropology in the first year of my degree but was always going to drop it in second and third year. Not something I regret at all though as I had a whole lot of fun with it. Do you have a particular area of interest yet?
But yeah, my main anthropological interest is cultural and linguistic. I'm mainly going to focus on Afro-Caribbean Language and Culture, and Afro-Syncretic religions.
Sweet. I'd managed to bullshit my way into being permitted to do a triple major in Industrial Relations, Philosophy and Political Science with a focus on Australian Institutional Politics. One of those degrees where I came out with a brilliant education, but fuck all in the way of qualifications though I'm now working for the government in welfare (pretty much the only growth industry around at the moment). It's a pretty sweet gig and the leave and flexibility that I get is great for training and travelling to the other side of the country for Nationals two or three times a year.
Are you going to be able to keep jumping while you're there?
