Let's wake up early and write in lj before class! Ok!
My parents are my favorite people.
They met when my mom was 19 and my dad was 29; they had mutual friends. My mom used to watch my dad jog in the park. She would sit on a bench in her cute white nursing uniform and watch him jog. The first time they hung out together, they went roller skating with friends. My dad kept classically pushing my mom down.
My parents led adventure lives. My dad used to race motocross and my mom would watch as he soared into the air on his bike. They used to go rock climbing, camping, white water canoing and rafting. Once, their raft was caught in a rapid and sunk, whisking away all their supplies and leaving them stranded on a river. Thinking things were pretty bad, here my dad first told my mom he loved her. They were later (days later??) rescued by a little boy who brought them to a house filled with only peanut butter to eat.
They were married after being together for 7 years.
My mom is a horse whisperer (not actually professionally, I just think she can talk to them). I mean seeing my mom with a horse is seeing a person truly in her element. She loves them; they love her. She now runs a boarding facility in Canton, caring for our own horses and some nice horses who stay there. This has been her lifelong dream. She is beautiful, but has a tendency to be sad, which I have inherited. She worries too much. I'd like to see her relax more. She is muscular and a vegetarian and her sense of humor is delightfully goofy.
My dad is a lighting director. This means he is in charge of the lighting on movies, commercials, news casts, whatever the job may be. It's a pretty awesome job and I've been lucky enough to work with him a few times. He's worked on some memorable movies: Scarface, Last of the Mohicans, and recently he worked on that new Ashton Kutcher movie Killers, among many others. He gets to travel a lot (for free) and meet a lot of interesting people. He's great with talking to people and can strike up a conversation with anyone, which I think must be due to his personality but also the nature of his work. I hope one day I'll learn to network myself like he can. He has a wonderful laugh. I've never seen my dad angry and I have never seen him cry.
My parents are still in love. They are so cute sometimes it's nauseating. They are cute all over facebook. They fight sometimes, but who doesn't. I hope I find a perfect match to marry, like my mom has. The way she looks at my dad sometimes is beautiful. I want to find a man who will always inspire those looks from me as well.
Both of them are so funny and I see them as some of my best friends. I can call them up any time and talk to them about basically anything. They are not like "parents." They've never been restrictive or scolding. No topic is taboo at the dinner table. We are a dirty-jokes kind of family. But they are strong and supportive and love me unconditionally, as I love them.
