Week 2+
Sooo,.... yeah.
Weekly updates don't even really seem to be working for me,.. here I figured I'd be posting every day.
Second week went well, bed's more comfortable, figured out how to heat my room, picked up things from home, stuff like that. The holiday monday was nice, though it did mean less class time. I could NOT get motivated to read/study so it all got a bit backed up and I'm a little behind. But I'm catching up. Got my bench hook finished, LAST ONE in,... had to stay after class to get it done. Then on monday, he grabbed one off the pile for a demo (mine) and he's holding it in one hand and a chisel in the other, and I'm wigging out, thinking he's gonna GOUGE it,... but he didn't. He was just showing us how to remove dried glue. Got it back today, got 95. Not the highest mark,... but not the lowest! In the top range, which makes me happy. I just hope I'm not the last one done on EVERYTHING.
Spent saturday running around Vancouver with 3 of my roommates, part of The Great Escape From Res Race event. It's sort of a scavenger hunt, and was awesome. My legs aren't really happy with me right now, but they're getting better. We didn't win the top prize (half a month's rent), but we came in 3rd! So we got gift certs for the Keg, which is still a sweet prize.
So far this week we've been doing dovetail corners, by hand. There's more of that to come, and then in the future, we'll get to use the machine. But first the trinket box. Hopefully I won't get any fingers to keep in it. I haven't been back to First Aid (yet!), but I did have a moment today when I looked at my hand and thought, "Oh look, I'm bleeding. When did that happen?" No biggie, it stopped quick, and it's fine now.
Anyway, must study so as to catch up on tests.
