live8 really pisses me off. it just sucks that it takes pop music for people to come out and learn about something that is such a prevalent problem in the world today. it sucks that if it wasn't for dave matthews or maroon5 supporting this issue, a lot of people still wouldn't think about how fucked up world politics are right now. we are spending all this money on killing other people... and the fact of the matter is we could be saving so many lives with that money! the wto's job is to help countries develop... and yet africa is just getting worse and worse. and...it makes me sad to think that in this corrupt materialistic world we live in today, we all care more about our jeans and cellphones more than we do about the people suffering. we live in the big bad united states... where we take for granted how developed we are and how our struggles are so minuscule compared to those who sell their bodies to barely feed their children who's lives will be no better than the generations before them. and... some musicians played a free show, which is the only reason africa's problems crossed the minds of the billions of us who are now driving our nice cars home and will eat a home cooked meal with our families. i am no better than them... and that makes me sad as well. maybe i am educated on the issue, but other than donating some money here and there, i spend my time making money to by my expensive clothes and electronics. ::sigh:: i need to get back to school and be submerged into world politics again.

i almost quit my job last night. i hate retail. however, the discount and adoreable fall clothes that are soon coming out are reason enough to stay... im young, arent i supposed to hate my job? hah... i love my other job though... camp is amazing. the kids are awesome. i think there is some part of me that really does want that some day... to be married and have children. they're so impressionable... they are just starting their lives... it's amazing the spirit they have. plus, im working with the best people there is. nikki, bobby, mikey, dave, portiks, chris, lauren, tim, rach, etc... <333! i miss my father. im counting down until my return to school. i miss my friends. and heinz. and i miss learning. but... this summer is going great. :)
