Epiphanies in Chemical Soup
Spa baubles -
Blue and fizzing on commercial rocks -
Rocks with “made in china” stamps plastered to their
“Natural beauty.”
Blue soap flakes molded into fish -
Complete with scales, tails, and dead powdered eyes.
Only in my mind’s eye do they become
Pan-seared salmon; drenched in butter and
Beautiful to a desolate tongue.
Four year old twin boys with
Malicious grins take a piss over the
Hot tub walls; poisonous yellow rainbows
Pelting my daydreams of fillet with
Metallic half-death
A killjoy of the hit-and-fizz.
