I finally mailed my US Immigration forms today. It felt fantastic. I kind of wanted to do a little Broadway-style song-and-dance number as I dropped it in the mailbox. It was a happy and joyous occasion, but not nearly so frabjous* as the day I get my freakin' Green Card. Best believe there will be some serious jazz hands on that day.
I have a volunteer position at a daycare for children who have been victims of abuse, and I love working with them so so much. I think that they should hire me once I can work, because I am amazing and actually better suited for the job than some of the teachers currently working there.
It's fall, and that means back to school. But since I'm not going back to school this fall, I am compensating by going hardcore at the public library. I am studying a music history book so I can ace the UW music major placement test. And I am borrowing lots of piano sheet music to get better at that, too. I can actually kind of really play the piano now and I think that kind of rocks.
Well, now it's time to do some laundry, and practice my latest piano goal. It is called Chopin's Prelude in E minor, Op. 28, No. 4 FOR NOW. But in a week or so it will be called I-AM-SO-FREAKIN'-AWESOME-AT-THIS-PIECE-EVEN-I-CAN'T-HANDLE-IT!
Yeah.
